How We Worship

Praying HandsThe church of Christ endeavors to worship God “in Spirit and in Truth” (Jn. 4:24) – by teachings and examples of the New Testament.

Congregational—A Capella singing is enjoyed in each assembly. (Matthew 26:30; 1 Corinthians 14:15; Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16; Hebrews 2:12).

We pray through Christ to God in thankfulness for His blessings. Prayer is an important part of our assemblies. (Luke 18:1; 1 Corinthians 14:15; 1 Thessalonians 5:17; 1 Timothy 2:8; 1 John 5:14-16).

Weekly communion of the Lord’s Supper is observed by all faithful members of the church of Christ each first day of the week, as taught in God’s Holy Word (Matthew 26:26f; Mark 14:22f; Luke 22:14f; Acts 2:42; 20:7).

The preaching of the Gospel of Christ is an important part of worship. The whole counsel of the Word of God is covered from time to time: the plan of salvation; the church; the Christian life; and other moral and social topics (Mark 16:15; 2 Timothy 4:1-5; Titus 2:1; Colossians 2:3).

Each Sunday a free-will contribution is taken for the support of the entire work of the church (1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 9:7).
